Schellman Awarded Transition Accreditation by ANAB and UKAS for ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification Services

ISO Certifications

This accreditation adds to Schellman's existing comprehensive suite of ISO Services.

TAMPA, Fla.—June 2, 2023Schellman, a leading provider of attestation and compliance services, announced today that it has been awarded transition accreditation by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification services.

This is a required accreditation for any certification body that can assess and certify against the 2022 version of ISO 27001, and Schellman's achievement of it adds to the existing ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 20000-1, and ISO 22301 accreditations it maintains with ANAB, as well as the ISO/IEC 27001 accreditation Schellman maintains with the UKAS.

ANAB and UKAS are the premier national accreditation bodies within the United States and the United Kingdom, respectively, and assess the competence of organizations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services. An organization accredited by ANAB and UKAS demonstrates an elevated competence, impartiality, and reliability in its ability to deliver its certification services.

With this accreditation, clients of Schellman can be confident that Schellman’s ISO certification services adhere to specific and audited requirements.

“We understand that our clients are adapting their security programs against the newest version of ISO 27001, and we are there to support them as a trusted audit partner,” said Ryan Mackie, Schellman principal, and firm ISO certification leader. “Additionally, it is critical that all ISO certification bodies doing work be fully accredited and have the necessary focus and attention to quality that is explicit within the standards.”

“To be one of the first certification bodies to transition to the 2022 version of ISO 27001, with both ANAB and UKAS, is a testament to our continued effort to adapt to and continually improve our own management system and methodology,” said Jason Lam, a senior manager at Schellman.

Schellman’s overall framework and suite of services allow each organization to tailor their assessment(s) to its specific compliance requirement while leveraging the controls of its current compliance initiatives. This innovative model also allows the firm to combine other client-specific requirements, allowing Schellman to perform testing once and deliver multiple comprehensive reports for several examinations and assessments—which includes accredited ISO 27001 certifications against the latest version of the standard.
