Schellman is the only Top 100 CPA firm to specialize in IT Audit and Cybersecurity. Not all CPA firms are created equally, and we pride ourselves on our differences. As a smaller firm, we are more visible; you are not one of the masses. Our team is made up of high performers who move quickly and thrive in an open environment.
Named a best place to work for the last 3 years, the difference is in the details:
We've redefined the grind and our employees love having more time for family, friends, and fun.
Total compensation is higher than industry statistics and include bonuses that are paid on a quarterly basis.
Considering relocation? We provide the flexibility to work from any major U.S. city.
Weekends aren't for work. Standard travel is Monday through Thursday (and we pay a travel bonus when it's not).
Our commitment to employing experienced professionals motivates our team members and results in higher overall job satisfaction.
Tired of being a jack of all trades, master of none? Gain expertise thanks to our focus on a core set of services within our niche market.
Why not? Because they are relics of an archaic business model that we prefer to avoid — we've seen collaboration makes for a better environment.
Seeking international travel? Our U.S.-based team members currently provide services in over 30 countries.
Interested in expanding your skillset? We give you the freedom to increase your knowledge by gaining exposure to additional lines of service.
Schellman provides top-of-the-line compensation packages to its team members. Performance, years of professional experience, years with the company, and more are all figured into the annual compensation increase. We recognize that compensation is an important factor in retaining the most talented personnel. For that reason, our top performers are rewarded generously.
Schellman provides optional retirement plan benefits that include access to a 401(k) plan offering both pre-tax and Roth post-tax contribution features. Schellman’s retirement plan is administered by one of the nation’s leading financial services companies, and all account management activities can be performed online.
Schellman matches team member’s 401(k) contributions up to 10% of the team member's compensation, subject to IRS limitations. All employer matching contributions up to 5% of a team member's compensation are fully vested. Employer matching contributions in excess of 5% of a team member’s compensation are subject to a 5-year vesting schedule at the rate of 20% per year for each year of credited service beginning with the team member’s original date of hire. All employer matching funds contributed after a team member’s fifth year of credited service vest immediately.
Discretionary quarterly bonuses are derived directly from net income results and allocated to team members based on individual performance.
Typical travel days for our team members are Monday through Thursday in order to allow more time with family and friends. Travel that occurs outside of these days is considered "non-standard" travel. Team members that have to engage in "non-standard" travel are paid discretionary bonuses each quarter. Amounts of the bonus will vary based on international or national travel.
Our personnel receive over 30 days of paid leave each year, including 15 days of personal time off (PTO), standard holidays, and the two calendar weeks Schellman closes operations at Christmas and New Year's. After five years of service, team members earn an additional five days of PTO.
Schellman pays 100% of each team member's healthcare and dental insurance benefits.
Highlights of these benefits include:
Schellman provides complimentary short-term and long-term disability insurance to all of our team members.
Schellman reimburses up to $5,000 of Lasik surgery costs for any team member that has been employed by the company for at least two years.
Schellman offers optional complimentary life insurance coverage to all team members with death benefits equal to the lesser of the team member’s annual salary or $200,000.
In addition to FMLA, Schellman provides parental leave for moms and dads to welcome new family members, including births, adoptions, and foster child placements.
Team members are supported in maintaining appropriate educational requirements to meet their CPE requirements for relevant accounting, audit, and IT certifications and licenses. Currently, training is conducted via self-study courses, seminars, off-site training courses, and any other means necessary to meet supported CPE requirements. To the extent team members are eligible, we encourage team members to gain one certification a year, Schellman will pay or reimburse for related preparatory materials, training, and examination fees.
Schellman reimburses team members for membership dues incurred to participate in relevant professional organizations.
Schellman will reimburse team members for tax filing services up to a certain amount.
Team members are provided with a $150 technology allowance that may be used for a variety of purposes, including mobile phone plans, tablet subscriptions, and home internet access.
