Christy Shum

Christy Shum is a Director at Schellman & Company, LLC, based in Portland, Oregon. She serves a diverse portfolio of clients across the West Coast, specializing in SOC, ISO, HITRUST, and PCI compliance. Since joining Schellman in 2015, Christy has played a pivotal role in delivering high-quality attestation and compliance services.

Prior to Schellman, Christy worked as a Senior Associate at a large accounting firm within the IT Risk Consulting practice. In this role, she focused on IT attestation, audit, and compliance engagements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and system pre-implementation reviews.

Before transitioning to professional services, Christy held roles as a Senior Information Security Analyst for a credit union and an IT Auditor for a large insurance company. These roles allowed her to develop deep expertise in IT security, system analysis, IT audit, and project management.

Fun fact: If I could have dinner with any historical figure, I’d love to have dinner with Freddie Mercury. His talent, charisma, and creativity were unmatched, and I’d love to hear his stories about Queen, his inspirations, and how he viewed the world.
