Matt Brunker

Matt Brunker brings a wealth of expertise in assessing, managing, and mitigating cyber risks across a broad range of industries. With over a decade of experience in cybersecurity and 8 years specifically within IRAP, Matt has led and executed numerous high-stakes security assessments for federal and state governments, managed service providers, and hyperscaler cloud service providers.

As the technical authority for IRAP within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), Matt has completed over 15 IRAP assessments and conducts quality assurance reviews on other IRAP assessors' work, helping to uplift their assessments where required. He has successfully developed and implemented national cybersecurity strategies, including ensuring the quality of IRAP assessments through technical QA activities. Matt also developed the ASD Essential Eight Assessment Guidance Package and Essential Eight Assessment Course. His work has enabled organizations to conduct high-quality and accurate cybersecurity assessments, significantly enhancing their security postures. Additionally, Matt has played a pivotal role in delivering cybersecurity services for major clients such as the Australian Cyber Security Centre, Amazon Web Services, the Royal Australian Air Force, and the Australian Taxation Office.

With his extensive knowledge and comprehensive certifications, Matt is dedicated to ensuring organizations achieve and maintain compliance with industry standards, thereby mitigating risks and enhancing overall security. He is adept at collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders to deliver tailored cybersecurity solutions that address unique organizational needs.
