Michael Zanga, Group Head of Cyber, Technology, and Data Risk at Barclays, oversees systemic and residual risk management for the firm's services. Prior to Barclays, he served as a Strategy and Transformation Executive at IBM and held key roles at major international banks, including CIO at Royal Bank of Scotland, CTO at Deutsche Bank, and Engineer at UBS. He has served on the boards of TechR2, a data protection firm, and Alkymi, an AI-driven data manipulation company. A CISSP-certified information security expert with a Master’s degree from Iona University, where he also teaches Computer Systems, Michael has collaborated with the Federal Reserve on banking practice reviews and led initiatives in data security, cost containment, and aligning technology with business objectives.
Michael previously presided over the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF), supporting programs to enhance educational outcomes for students and families. He also partnered with the Utah Chamber of Commerce, University of Utah, and BYU to develop curricula aligned with Royal Bank of Scotland’s job opportunities, creating internship and graduate programs that fostered talent in Salt Lake City.
